Folk lives! Come and see for yourself on Saturday 11 August in the courtyard of the Old Town Hall. Our effort is to show folk in all its beauty, as a bottomless well of inspiration. From genre overlaps, through authentic tone to the unbridled glee of children’s ensembles. Halfway through the Marathon it will be necessary to draw on fresh energy. The folk temperament will get directly into your blood. Singing and dancing permitted!
We begin with a moderately famous virtuoso cimbalom duo, via the mighty voices of singers from Kyjov to the raw music of the Moravian-Slovakian borderlands. The whole programme will be presented by the legendary Ladislav Čumba.

The Spěváks’ private and professional paths are linked by the cimbalom. This renowned duo opens the programme. and Guests …

Both of the musicians performing for us in the main evening programme try to interpret folk music in the most faithful and truthful way. During the evening they will present to us the distinctive regions of the Moravian-Slovakian borderlands, hidden in the hills and valleys of the White Carpathians. At least in the medium of song ĽH Poľana and HM Petra Mičky lead us from the blooming scented meadows of Kopanice, via Horňácko through to Myjava.
